Butcher Block Kitchen Table.
Luckily I was able to find the same color scheme on the web. This was a lovely hand me down from my in-laws and it's such a function table. It's currently being used at a computer table since we acquired an additional table.
so before:
The lovely white and light tan wood. I could NOT STAND these colors and so I decided to attempt my first staining project and picked a coral color to remind me of home. (South Carolina)
After:
This project took me about a full weekend. Stripping the vinyl was a serious headache and my forearms were killing me! I got all my supplies from Lowe's and they were really helpful with the paint options and staining equipment.
So if you have a bland piece of furniture prep it up- after all summer is here!
Decoration Table:
This table has been moved and used for a million and one things. The living room area, computer desk, in my daughters bedroom. It's surprisingly heavy but that's besides the point. I came across this table at our first rental in Virginia. This table was sitting outside our condo collecting dust, dirt, and cobwebs. When we first moved here we literally had nothing since our prior rental was fully furnished. I brought the table inside and used many rags to wipe it clean and came across a medium brown color. Completely stripped of everything. This was my very first project and I told myself I did such a good job that I soon would open my own distressing business... HA! I love the beachy colors so I chose the above sea foam color. It took a while to dry because I got the wrong paint (peeled like a moro) I had to tweak some things in order for it to actually stick. Later I distressed it with sand paper and those Brillo pads which surprisingly worked well! I heard MudPaint is a great tool to help with the distressing but haven't had the time to try it out. If you have I'd love to see and hear your thoughts/projects.
